An included excursion takes us first to the picturesque Cassis, which has managed to retain the old-world charm of a small fishing village with its colourful, pastel buildings – perfect for sitting with a coffee and watching the world go by. The area is famous for the impressive inlets and white cliffs of the Calanques, standing high above the beautiful turquoise sea.
Afterwards, we continue onto Bandol, famed for its fine red wines, which are often served cold. Here, you can wander the tree-lined promenade and admire the yachts in the bustling harbour.

Today we visit the delightful, former capital of Provence, Aix-en-Provence, known as the ‘City of a Thousand Fountains’. Explore the medieval centre with its charming streets and lanes, leading to squares lined with grand buildings. This was the home to the artist Paul Cezanne, and his legacy can be found throughout the city. Watch the world go by from a pavement café on the elegant, tree-lined Cours Mirabeau.

Today, we visit the ancient town of Arles to discover the highlights of the city, in particular the exterior of the 2000-year-old Roman Amphitheatre still in use today. It was originally built to hold 20,000 spectators in the style of the Colosseum in Rome.
Afterwards, we head to Aigues-Mortes, a small, fortified town in the Camargue. Here, the little train is included for you to explore the town at your leisure. Later, we head by coach to enjoy a tour on the motorised little train passing through pink salt lakes, or salins, which are famous in the Camargue region. The pink colour comes from a type of algae called Dunaliella salina, which thrives in the high salinity of the water. The algae are also a food source for flamingos, which are often seen in the area.

An included visit today takes us to the medieval walled city of Avignon, one of the major cities of the Provence region. Located on the banks of the River Rhône, this charming Roman town is famous for the Pont d’ Avignon, or broken bridge. Originally the bridge had 22 arches, but now only 4 remain. Another popular tourist spot is the Place du Palais, located next to Place de L’horloge. During the morning, we will have a tour around the city on the Little Town Train.
Afterwards, we visit the Luberon Lavender Museum near Gordes, a picturesque museum in the form of a traditional Provencal farmhouse and surrounded by a lavender field shaded by olive trees and pines.
