- How many years have you been coach driving? I passed my test 16 years ago and have been coach driving full time for 10 years.
- How many years have you been driving with our company? I’ve been with Leger for 8 years. My first ever tour was in 2017.
- How many years have you been driving together as a team? One year.
- Does your coach have a name? Our coach is called Nelly.
- What inspired you to become a coach driver? My dad was a coach driver when I was young and later a bus driver. I used to see him in the mornings always suited going out to work and driving these large vehicles. He used to take me on his coaches/buses and, at one stage, brought double deckers home to start the next morning. I used to love cleaning his bus and he would give me 50p, which as an 8 and 9-year-old was amazing. I used to frequently go on drives with my dad when he later became a bus driver and loved the travelling. I later became qualified in Computer Engineering but never really enjoyed the job being stuck inside, so switched careers and took my driving test for buses. Quickly I realised it wasn't buses that I wanted to do; I wanted to be a coach driver. My local coach company gave me the opportunity to realise my dream job.
- When you're not on the road, how do you like to spend your time? When we arrive at new places, wherever possible, we go and visit the centres and locations of interest. Otherwise, it's always cleaning the coach, coming up with new ideas and fiddling with technology.
- What is your favourite country, destination, or tour you've driven to? My favourite tour is Highlights of Eastern Europe.
- What makes it your top choice? We visit so many countries and cities. Each place has its own unique feel and historic landmarks setting them apart from the rest, and each country has its own cultures.
- What's your favourite memory from a past tour? My favourite memory has to be when I was crowned King of Olympia in Greece!
- If you could provide a top travel tip for our passengers, what would that be? Be aware of the scams that take place in many cities. If it seems too good to be true, it is!
- Is there anything else you would like to share with us about the tours you do? When we take on a tour, we give it our all. Each morning, I greet the passengers and offer a welcoming and happy feel!

- What inspired you to become a coach driver? My inspiration to become a coach driver came from my husband. I travelled with him on many of his tours and thoroughly enjoyed journeying around Europe. For many years, I didn’t think of myself as a very sociable person. However, on these coach trips, I found a very different experience. The interaction with the passengers was something I really enjoyed and, while they may have joined the holiday as strangers, I like to think they leave as friends.
- When you're not on the road, how do you like to spend your time? When I have free time, I like to spend it exploring the local area.
- What is your favourite country, destination, or tour you've driven to? Personally, my favourite tour is Classical Greece – Athens, Mycenae, Olympia & Zakynthos.
- What makes it your top choice? The beautiful scenery and fascinating history that we discover.
- What's your favourite memory from a past tour? We recently completed a tour with a fantastic group of passengers. We all had such a laugh throughout the tour, and, towards the end, the artist of the group commandeered the microphone to present Shaun and I with a picture he had stayed up the night before drawing. The picture perfectly captured the time we had all spent together.
- If you could provide a top travel tip for our passengers, what would that be? Patience is key when travelling across Europe!
